His parent's played Lucy and Ricky Ricardo. The running gag constantly repeated throughout the series consisted of Lucy routinely scheming behind her husband's back but something would always go awry in the most hilarious of ways. 

I Love Lucy had a pretty impressive run from 1951 and 1957 and won an impressive five primetime Emmy's during its time on the air.
