Wenn der Herrgott net will

Die Welt ist so schön und die Welt ist so reich,
Doch ist halt das Leben für alle nicht gleich.
Es geht durcheinander, es ist kunterbunt
Und doch ist die bucklige Welt kugelrund.
Ein jeder Mensch hofft, und ein jeder Mensch strebt,
Doch viele sind da, die umsonst nur gelebt,
Was nützt alles Denken, es gibt nur den Schluß,
Es kommt schließlich alles, wie kommen es muß:
Waun da Heagott net wü, nutsd des goa nix,
Schrei net um, bleib schön stumm, sog es woa nix.
So woas imma, so bleibt es für ewige Zeit:
Amoi obn, amoi unt, amoi Freid, amoi Leid.
Waun da Heagott net wü, nutsd des goa nix,
Sei net bös, net nervös, sog es woa nix.
Renn nua nicht gleich fazweihfed und kopflos herum,
Weu da Heagott wahs imma, warum.
Das Leben hat mir eine Lehre geschenkt:
Es kommt immer anders, als man es sich denkt.
Drum soll man nie sagen, es muß und ich will!
Der Herrgott entscheidet - und du halte still!
Sei immer zufrieden mit deinem Geschick,
Beneide nicht immer die andern um's Glück.
Wie schnell kann es anders oft sein über Nacht:
Das Ende wird immer von oben gemacht!

If the Good Lord won't want

The world is so fair and the world is so great,
But not ev'ryone meets a similar fate;
The world's topsy-turvy, its colors abound,
Though this humpy world is still perfectly round.
And each person hopes, and so each person strives,
Yet many have lived just for nothing their lives.
What good does the thinking, you have but to trust
That all of it happens as happen it must!
If the Good Lord won't want, you can't make it:
Don't complain, just abstain, don't you fake it!
Thus it was, thus it will be - there's nothing that's new:
Once you're up, once you're down; once you're blithe, once you're blue.
If the Good Lord won't want, you can't make it:
Don't be sad, don't be mad, never stake it!
Just stop running around without hope, without rest,
For the Good Lord knows always the best!
I did learn a lesson or two from my life:
Things turn other ways than the way that you strive,
And therefore don't claim that you must and you will!
The Good Lord decides, so you better hold still.
Be always content with whatever's in store,
Don't envy the others who seem to have more,
For things can change fast, and they change overnight:
In the end He decides - and out of your sight!
