Surviving the Unthinkable: Stories from the Holodomor Genocide

In times when the conflict between Russia and Ukraine is boiling up again, it is worth taking a look at the past of both countries.
The documentary film "Holodomor - A genocide that never found an end" is about the famine of 1933 and 1934 in Ukraine, which drove between 3 and 7 million Ukrainians to their death. In the film, Alex, a contemporary witness, Nina, a descendant of contemporary witnesses, and Mrs. Markova, the director of the National Museum of the Holodomor, address the following four questions: What were the causes of the famine? How can the situation during that time be described? What was the international reaction to the events? Why are the incidents not recognized internationally as genocide?
Themes such as Soviet superiority at the time, fathers, brothers and sisters who died, the suppression of the Ukrainian spirit, the consequences of communism, and religion as a source of consolation all find their place in the protagonists' answers.

While I work on the next film...
