In this video, we prepared food for the father, who is collecting natural turpentine from Beneh trees in the traditional and old way, and we took it to the mountains around the village and served it together.
Baneh or mountain pistachio or wild pistachio, with the scientific name Pistacia atlantica, is a tree from the subcategory of pistachios. The high value of Beneh trees is due to the use of its different parts in many medicinal fields. Industrial and edible. Different parts of this tree, such as bark, leaves, unripe fruit, kernel of ripe seeds and gum, from its trunk (natural turpentine) can be used in many food and medicinal fields. Turpentine sap is part of the group of gums (oleoresins) with countless properties.
Among the most useful and well-known natural gum is the gum of the wild pistachio tree (Baneh). The medicinal, therapeutic and medical properties of this gum are such that its use is recommended by great and popular doctors such as Ibn Sina. The extract obtained from the root (turpentine) of the leaflet is the most useful medicinal plant available from the tree. And it is used in food industry and traditional medicine.
