If you're looking for free camping near Alpine, Wyoming, or Palisades Reservoir, Idaho, Forest Road 281 is an awesome boondocking/dry camping spot. There are a lot of sites to choose from with easy access, and most of them are right next to the beautiful Indian Creek. It's only a mile or so from the Palisades Reservoir which is a great place for boating, fishing, swimming, and paddleboarding.
