More legal opinions from experts are coming up after the conference call that took place earlier this week appointed by Judge Netburn, regarding the Ripple vs SEC lawsuit. Experts claim that it was clear the judge wanted some clarifications from the SEC for claiming client-privilege assertions for not handing the evidence requested by Ripple.

The SEC has changed on several occasions its position in regards to Hinman's speech, first stating that what was said on the speech was his personal opinion. The judge started the session asking the SEC if they could clarify which part of the speech Hinman received legal advice for.
The argument with the SEC is that Hinman wanted to make sure his speech was consistent with the SEC position. Lawyer experts explained that if a lawyer of the SEC was providing Hinman legal advice then the client would be the SEC and not Hinman as a personal client, which would make Hinman’s speech not his personal opinion.

There is a threat in twitter posted by John Deaton, CryptoLaw founder with the Judge’s questions and it’s clear that the SEC is running out of valid arguments.

Ripple announces a new partnership with Lunu. Lunu terminal or point of sale (POS) will make it possible to use cryptos at the point-of-sale in retail purchases that are no more complicated or time-consuming than regular credit card transactions. The online widget enables luxury retailers in the UK and Europe to accept crypto as a payment method.

Ripple is well equipped to bring crypto solutions to this high-end retail sector through Liquidity Hub.
Ripple’s Liquidity Hub is a new way for enterprises to easily and efficiently source digital assets from the broader crypto market. As a crypto liquidity platform built for the enterprise, it will unleash the potential to access deep liquidity within markets, accelerating the shift to crypto.

Ripple’s New Value report, which was published in February of this year, found that 56% of individuals surveyed globally are more likely to purchase from a retailer that offers payment with crypto. Giving customers this added option opens the door to new demographics and positions brands as technologically progressive and responsive to the interests of consumers.

Rajesh Madhaiyan, Director of Product at Lunu, explained that; “For luxury retailers, it is vital to stay on top of the latest trends, and when it comes to payments the greatest innovation is coming from the evolving crypto scene. Thanks to Lunu these retailers get access to new, younger, more affluent audiences that are constantly growing in numbers. Our partnership with Ripple has the potential to greatly impact retailers’ customer service offerings by expanding the variety of payment methods and by portraying retailers’ brands as more innovative and progressive.”
Some high-profile retailers, like Gucci, started to accept payments in cryptocurrencies in some US stores at the end of May.

In Gucci’s case however,the in-store crypto payments were made with a link sent via email to the customer. The link contained a QR code that allowed them to execute the payment from their crypto wallet.
The retailers are leaning even further into blockchain technology, through exclusive NFT drops and digital real estate, to enhance their image as a contemporary brand and engage new customers.
