CombatCon and Intensives Recap

A bit long-winded, but an in-progress and brief post-script from CombatCon X in Las Vegas, 2022.

Sadly I didn't get to see most of the Con; I was the sole person heading up the Filmmaking intensive, which was embedded with a writing intensive, a stunt intensive, and a martial arts intensive.

The intensives thing was described to me as being a bit like a cross between an educational workshop and a 48hr film fest... with knives! Granted, putting those two together meant that almost everyone involved was just learning to do their job, and we were missing half the crew you'd normally have on a 48hr film, and we had less time for production than usually is taken, and more limits on location (hotel convention area only)... lots of challenges, but they survived (so far, anyway... plenty of them got COVID, including me).
