Hydraulic Tubing Bender Build

In this video I fabricated a hydraulic/pneumatic tubing bender with the build plans from Takacs Cycles. Here's a link to the plans- http://www.gottrikes.com/Tube_Bender.htm

They're a fantastic deal, very detailed and easy to follow. I used a Bridgeport mill and had access to a lathe to make some bushings, but there is an option to build with or without the turned bushings, so you could easily build this yourself with just a drill press and a way to cut the tubes and flat stock to length.

I knew I was going to need a tubing bender when I got to the suspension components on the Falcon Restomod Project. When I began designing my own bender I came across these plans and figured for less than $20 I couldn't pass it up. The plans utilize readily available materials and parts as well as the Pro-Tools 105 series bending dies, which are a little on the expensive side. My first project was a pair of control arms for my Mustang which I made from 1-1/4", .120 wall DOM. Next up is a roll cage and then I'll be back on the Falcon to make more suspension parts and another roll cage.

I couldn't be happier with the bender. Now I need to slap some paint on it.
