Boris Johnson ‘making it up as he goes along’

Sky News host James Morrow says British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was playing “buzzword bingo” at the G7 when he remarked the leaders’ people wanted them to be “building back better” in a “more gender neutral” and “more feminine way”.

“That is what the people of our countries now want us to focus on,” Mr Johnson said.

“They want us to be sure that we’re beating the pandemic together and discussing how we’ll never have a repeat of what we have seen but also that we’re building back better together.

“And building back greener and building back fairer and building back more equal and, how shall I, in a more gender neutral and perhaps more feminine way.”

Mr Morrow said the British prime minister appeared to be “making it up as he goes along”.

“I don’t think he had any clue what he was saying,” he said.

“The wrap on Boris Johnson has always been that whoever is the most recent person to get into his ear about something, that’s what going to come out of his mouth.

“I suspect that his new wife, who’s quite left-wing, has probably planted quite a bit of these talking points.”
