Potentiometer LED Brightness Control — Get More Control Over Your Circuits

In this quick demo, we show how a simple variable resistor — also known as a potentiometer — can give you smooth, precise control over LED brightness. By turning the knob, you change the resistance, which changes the current flowing through the LED. More resistance means dimmer light, less resistance means brighter light.

This is one of the easiest ways to understand how analog control works in electronics. Potentiometers are used everywhere: volume knobs, dimmer switches, sensor calibration, and microcontroller inputs. If you’re just getting into electronics, learning how a pot works will instantly give you more control over your circuits.

This demonstration is simple, visual, and perfect for beginners. One component, one LED, and a whole new level of control.
