I Tried 3 Famous Fuzz Face Mods

If you've ever plugged into a Fuzz Face at home and thought it sounded massive, then watched it disappear the second the drummer started playing, you are not imagining it.

Most people blame the transistor.
The strange thing is that the transistor is often only part of the story.

In this video I finish wiring one of my Abbey Road Fuzz builds and compare it directly against an original 1990s NKT275 Fuzz Face to find out why some fuzz pedals feel huge, focused and alive while others collapse into woolly low end and disappear completely.

What started as a simple build quickly became a lesson in how tiny changes completely alter the behaviour of a circuit.
