Through the Smoke - Teaser Trailer (Haines City Fire Department)
The Haines City Fire Department is excited to announce a groundbreaking documentary series, "Through the Smoke," which will provide an intimate look into the daily lives and heroism of our firefighters. This first-of-its-kind series for Haines City and Polk County is set to premiere on January 31st on our Facebook page and the City of Haines City YouTube channel.
Our own Public Information Officer, Zach Hamelton, the creative force behind this project, brings his extensive film experience and a personal connection to the fire service to the series. Hamelton shares, "Growing up with an uncle in the fire service and family in the medical field has always given me an immense respect for these professions. This series is more than a project; it's a passion project to honor the dedication and sacrifice of these everyday heroes."
Lieutenant Mitchell Lamm, who will be regularly featured, expressed his thoughts on the filming experience: "It was truly an eye-opening and humbling experience talking on my crew’s behalf on camera in such a manner." He also highlighted his excitement about the series' potential impact, "I’m really looking forward to what the show will mean for the community in terms of understanding what it takes to do the job and dispelling typical misconceptions about the fire service."
Assistant Fire Chief Drew Neubrand also shared his enthusiasm: "Seeing 'Through the Smoke' come to life has been incredible. It's not just about capturing what we do; it's about sharing our story, the ups and downs, with the community. This series is going to give people a real sense of the heart and soul behind the uniform."
