Intel Meltdown CPU Flaw Vulnerability exploit
Use Lansweeper to find devices that are vulnerable to Intel Meltdown and Spectre CPU flaw on your network and that need to be patched. Read the full article: https://www.lansweeper.com/vulnerability/discover-devices-vulnerable-to-the-meltdown-cpu-flaw/
There appears to be a flaw in modern Intel processors, the so-called Meltdown vulnerability, that lets attackers bypass kernel access protections so that they can steal sensitive data from the system memory.
Microsoft released a security patch to protect Windows devices against vulnerabilities affecting supported hardware chips. Additionally, the Microsoft updates are not all-out fixes. Some Windows PCs may require additional CPU firmware updates to protect against Spectre attacks, but the Microsoft updates appear to fully address the Meltdown flaw.
Lansweeper can tell you in a matter of seconds which devices are vulnerable and need to be patched. To do this you can add a report to your Lansweeper installation which will list all computers that require attention.
Follow the link to our forum in the description. On our forum you can find the report we'll be using. Copy this report and go to the web console.
Find the report and a step by step guide: https://goo.gl/EsBCx2
Go to Reports\Create New Report.
In the window at the bottom paste the report. Give the report a title and click save & run.
In the patched column you can check whether a computer has been found to not be patched or whether the computer needs to be rescanned to retrieve more accurate information. In the next column you can see which Microsoft update needs to be installed on this computer. Which update needs to be installed has been determined based on the OS of the computer.
Any computer listed in the output of this report is either not yet patched, or has not been scanned since it has been patched.
Your end goal here would be to patch all of your computers and end up with an empty report.
