Good news for the hilly region with the construction of the Khammam-Devarapalli Greenfield Highway
The path towards development with highway construction in hilly areas
The distance between Andhra and Telangana will be reduced with the construction of the highway
Mahardasa will be located in the West Godavari district with the Greenfield Highway to be constructed as part of the Bharat Project. Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari today laid the foundation stone for the construction of the Khammam-Devarapalli Greenfield Highway. He was present at the opening of the second flyover of Vijayawada Benz Circle. He laid the foundation stone for the Greenfield Highway in a virtual manner from the Indira Gandhi Stadium. With this highway passing through the West Godavari district, people are hopeful that the hilly areas of the district will develop.
The Center has already allocated Rs 569.37 crore from Chintalapudi Mandal Recharla to Gurvaigudem in West Godavari district and Rs 711.4 crore from Gurvaigudem to Devarapalli. At present, the distance from Khammam to Rajahmundry is 220 km. If the Greenfield Highway is completed, the distance will be reduced to 167 km.
However, the construction of the 72 km Greenfield Highway will continue in the West Godavari district. While 1,411 acres of land is required for the construction of this highway .. of which 114 acres is government land .. the remaining 1,297 acres are being collected from farmers. Officials say that once the construction of the highway is completed, the hilly areas of the district will take steps towards development.
The road will start from Chintalapudi zone and pass through T. Narasapuram, Jangareddygudem, Koyyalagudem and Gopalapuram zones and connect to Devarapalli highway. Those from Aswarapeta and Dhammupeta areas of Telangana state can reach the top of the highway from the approach road being constructed at Chintalapudi Zone Reachers. If this road is completed, the distance between Telangana and Andhra borders will be reduced.
