Declaration of national emergency is 'an absolute disgrace'

Liberal MP Teena McQueen says Kerry Chant declaring a national emergency on behalf of the NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian is “an absolute disgrace”.

“The Liberal party members have had enough; I mean the volume of emails I’m receiving, and privately, the members of parliament that are furious with the decisions being made in NSW.

“It’s a crisis point and today reached a new low with Kerry Chant by the Premier declaring a national emergency.

“Look this woman has neither the expertise or authority to do that, it’s an absolute disgrace.

“I mean she’s flat out getting through her own choice of profession - medicine, and you know explaining that, so yeah people have had enough, and I think there’s going to be a lot of arching up from now on.

“We can’t continue like this, the price is too high, the bankruptcies, the medical incidents, the suicides, it just outweighs this constant state of lockdown we’re in with no hope for the near future.”
