Melodies on Canvas

Featured in this video are 13 original artworks inspired by the section they appear in in the music. “Melodies on Canvas” is the name of a non-profit project I began in my junior year of high school. With the help of friends and family, we held events around the area melding classical music and visual art together. Realizing the impact that showcasing collaboration had in my last video, The Swan Project, I wanted to replicate that in a different medium (or mediums). When The Swan Project premiered, we as a society were just at the beginning of this quarantine chaos. Exhibiting the power of collaboration and togetherness was deeply necessary. Currently, the world finds itself still gripped by COVID, and these principles continue to need to be shared. I picked Chopin Ballade No.4 for the music in this video because it is one of my favorite works of classical music. Its natural partitions explore a variety of sounds and emotions, making it perfect for visual interpretation.
