Eczema is a very general term it's like how people say fever. Fever can be due to infection. It can be due to non-infectious causes. Infections it can be bacterial infection viral infection etc. So similarly eczema is a type of reaction of the skin. It's an inflammatory reaction of the skin. So eczema can also have various causes it can be endogenous that is due to some problem occurring inside the body. It can be exogenous that is due to external things like weather pollution insects plants so many other allergens or it can be combined it can be mixed. So depending on what type of eczema you have the treatment varies. Depending on that and all eczemas are not flared up in summer in fact majority of eczemas flare up in winter because the skin gets dry. Any extreme weather can flare up eczemas and one of the most common types of eczema is called as atopic eczema or atopic dermatitis. Atopic dermatitis can flare up both in summer and winter it's a type of mixed eczema. So there are factors within the patient where the skin is very dry they're not able to form natural skin moisturizers with which other normal skin people have and they frequently get allergies and infections. So this type of eczema can flare up in the summers. So how do you maintain and prevent eczemas from flaring up? The most simple thing is frequently moisturize. Any moisturizer is better than no moisturizer. So anything coconut oil whatever is available to you moisturize the areas of the body which get dry are elbow and below elbow. So this entire area knee and below knee, back and the waist. So these three areas require frequent moisturization use a soap which is not very harsh on the skin. Use products which don't have too much fragrance. So if it has a very strong smell it's likely that it might increase your eczema . So these are the three simple things you can do at home to prevent eczemas from recurring.
