FAA Warns Airlines U S Military Operations Across Latin America

A JetBlue flight from Curacao to New York had to take evasive action to avoid a U.S. Air Force KC-135 refueling tanker off the coast of Venezuela. The military aircraft's transponder wasn't activated—meaning no warning.

Now the FAA has issued a 60-day warning covering Mexico, Central America, Colombia, Ecuador, and the eastern Pacific, citing potential military activities and GPS interference.

This comes after the U.S. seized Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro in a military operation. President Trump has since threatened action against Colombia and suggested airstrikes inside Mexico to target cartels.
