NEW Must-Visit Bakery in NYC

"He’s known as a bit of a Willy Wonka of pastries,” says Lonely Planet’s Shalayne Pulia, who recently taste-tested Kurobuta hot dog spirals with sticky rice, pretzel salt egg tarts with brown butter (chef’s favorite) and tons more at Papa d'Amour. Dominique Ansel, the award-winning chef known for inventing the cronut back in 2013, opened the inspired spot this spring as an ode to his children’s dual French and Taiwanese heritage. That means French pastry and Asian bread culture influences show up throughout the menu (which the chef says took about a year and a half to perfect).
