Scottish wildcat camera trapping in Clashindarroch Forest Aberdeenshire

Conservation organisation http://www.WildcatHaven.com work across the Scottish Highlands monitoring and protecting the last fragment populations of Scottish wildcats.

There may be as few as 35 of these cats left in the UK, all in the Highlands; our only native wildcat, which has lived here between ice age glaciations for about 2 million years.

Clashindarroch is a recent site for us, where our field teams have so far documented 13 wildcats, including the huge "Clashindarroch Beast", and a lot of other rare wildlife; it's a man made forest, but well matured and a haven for those animals when we have so little native forest left.
