How to Sew a Hem on Fabric–3 Ways: Zig-Zag Stitch, Stretch Stitch, Double Needle Cover Stitch

Expand your sewing skillset by learning how to hem knit fabric in 3 different ways using a sewing machine. In this video, you will see how fusible web tape and fabric adhesives, such as washable glue sticks and double-sided adhesive tape are useful products that can help your hem or seam stay flat and straight while you sew. Make sure to have your iron close by as well to keep folds flat and neat while you work.

Once you have prepped the fabric using your preferred choice of adhesive, it's time to sew your hem! There are special machine stitches for knit fabric that allow hems and seams to stretch along with the rest of your material.
