Dinner: Homemade turkey burgers

Turkey Burgers
Yield: 4 burgers
Serving Size: 1 burger
Prep time: 5 min
Cook time: 10 min
1 pound ground turkey breast
¼c finely diced small onion
1 garlic clove peeled and minced
¼ c loose chopped flat leaf parsley
1/8 c. fine breadcrumbs
¼ tsp. Ground pepper
2 T of your favorite low-sodium meat seasoning (if salt-free add ¼ tsp. salt for seasoning)
2 T EVOO
Serve with:
Whole grain sandwich bun
Romaine lettuce
Tomato slice
Low sodium Dijon mustard
Instructions:
1. Place meat, onion, parsley, breadcrumbs, EVOO and seasoning in a large bowl. Mix with your hands until combined. Don’t overmix or the meat will get tough!
2. Using a burger press form into 4 patties.
3. Preheat a gas grill or coat a grill pan or nonstick skillet with cooking spray.
4. Cook the burgers over medium heat for about 5 minutes or until brown and crispy. Flip the burgers carefully and cook for 5 minutes longer, or until golden brown and a a thermometer inserted in the center reaches 165 F and the meat is no longer pink.
