Sometimes one person in a family becomes the "black sheep" and gets blamed for the faults, wrongdoings, and mistakes of others-especially for reasons of expediency. This person is considered the "scapegoat" for the family's issues. It results in an avoidance of accountability and projection of blame onto others.
