Before you bake with your kids… watch this 🍫🥐 #science #homeschoolmom #scienceexperiment

Today’s science experiment came with flaky layers… and a few baking fails 😂🥐

We turned homemade chocolate croissants into a FOOD SCIENCE experiment by testing 3 different chocolates to see:
🍫 Which melted best
🍫 Which tasted best
🍫 Which worked best inside puff pastry

We tested:
✔️ Milk chocolate chips
✔️ Dark chocolate
✔️ Melting wafers

But here’s the best part… some of our croissants opened during baking and spilled chocolate everywhere 👀

Instead of calling it a fail, we used it as part of the experiment and talked about WHY it happened:
🧪 Did we overfill them?
🧪 Did we not seal them enough?
🧪 Did different chocolates melt differently in the oven?

That’s the beauty of food science — the mistakes become part of the learning.

We also practiced:
✨ Kitchen safety
✨ Following directions
✨ Independence
✨ Problem solving
✨ Observations & comparisons

And yes… we will eat every single one 😍
