Griftlands Smith Prestige 7 Brawl Speedrun 1:13:08 (World Record)

This is my second successful attempt at speedrunning a Prestige 7 Brawl, and this time it’s with Smith.

Despite a few pretty noticeable blunders, I’m quite pleased with how this run turned out. Battles and negotiations in general felt very smooth, though I still struggled a bit to maintain efficient gameplay as the size of my decks grew.

Committing to a Renown deck by drafting the Standing card at the start was a pretty bold move, but one I felt comfortable making. I’ve beaten Prestige 7 before using a Renown deck that didn’t even include Ditch or Networked cards. Drafting a second Standing card along with three Networker cards ensured that I always had a strong defense card available during negotiations.

I was also very fortunate to draft two copies of Pinto Pour. Combined with Chest Pound and Deal, I was able to ramp up Smith’s power very quickly in combat, turning him into an unstoppable force.

Because of that, I stuck with combat missions for the final day and rode that overpowered deck all the way to the end of the run.

Unfortunately, even an overpowered Smith can’t overcome player fatigue. I accidentally spared a combatant in the last fight before the final boss and wasted almost three minutes battling through the opposing force. Hiring NPCs to support the final boss fight also turned out to be overkill, since it only took three turns to finish it off.

Still, I was very pleased to find the opportunity to combine Smith’s Adrenaline Flourish, Intensify, and Kiss the Fists for a massive 180 damage.
