California Section I (Tuolumne Meadows to Sonora Pass) is 75 miles.

I would like to say that we appreciated every moment of Yosemite and soaked up all of its immense beauty, but the reality is more like we ran through half of it to make it before closing for a subpar burger, and then we ran through the other half of it because we were completely devoured by mosquitoes. It’s a wonderful time to be alive in Yosemite, if you’re a mosquito.
Sonora Pass brought back some High Sierra vibes with snow fields and freezing winds. We finished off this section with some incredible trail magic and a lovely stay at Kennedy Meadows Resort. This place was one of our favorite quick stops, and to be honest was the vibe that we were expecting to get from Kennedy Meadows South.
Also, we hit our 1000 mile mark! Woohoo!
