Full-size Ford and Mercury cars did pretty well at Daytona and at Pikes Peak in 1964, though we're pretty sure that the additional "319 pounds of heft" referred to in this magazine advertisement was sliced out of those race cars in a hurry. Still, the 1964 Monterey, Montclair and Park Lane could be had with lumpy-idling, overheating-in-traffic, 425-hp, 427-cubic-inch V8s and four-speed manual transmissions, and that's what matters.
