Permaculture Farming – food, soil & community

Matt Swarbrick and his family run Henbant Farm in North Wales. They use permaculture, holistic management and agro-ecological methods to grow veg, fruit, beef, eggs and forge strong links with the community.

Matt chats to Maddy Harland about how he became a farmer, the various methods used on the farm, how their one acre market garden is feeding 80 local families and how they've incorporated tourism to enable the planting of hundreds of agroforestry trees, adding biodiversity, food and wildlife habitat.

He also explains how, far from lonely, permaculture farming is all about building relationships and sharing skills – it is fun!
