Ferrari Miami Upgrade Explained: SF-26 New Floor, Macarena Wing & Mercedes Hunt 🚨 #Ferrari #SF26 #F1

Ferrari is preparing a major upgrade package to bring to the Miami Grand Prix, with the clear goal of closing the performance gap to Mercedes in the 2026 Formula 1 season. However, the team’s development plan has been slightly disrupted due to missing the Bahrain and Jeddah races, which affected the structured rollout planned by technical director Loïc Serra.

Originally, Ferrari intended to introduce upgrades step by step, carefully evaluating each change on track. But with a long gap of over 30 days between the Japanese Grand Prix and Miami, the team has adjusted its approach. Ferrari will now use a filming day at Monza, scheduled around April 22, to carry out an early assessment of the new components before they are raced in Florida.

The main focus of the upgrade package is a new floor, expected to deliver the biggest improvement in aerodynamic downforce. Additional updates aim to improve overall efficiency and reduce the car’s weight, both key factors in improving race pace.

Ferrari also plans to reintroduce the halo wing elements, which were previously removed in China due to a materials compliance issue with the safety structure. These will return once the correct specifications are confirmed.

Alongside these changes, the team will also test a revised version of the so-called “Macarena” rear wing during the Monza filming day. However, unless it performs strongly in that initial run, it is more likely to make its competitive debut later in the season, potentially at the Canadian Grand Prix.
