HO scale kitbashed EMD SW1001 with Soundtraxx TSU2 sound - unfinished model display

Here is my kitbashed HO scale model of an EMD SW1001. I started with an Athearn bluebox SW7, extended the cab and replaced the long hood with one from an Athearn bluebox SW1000.

Originally I attempted to modify the chassis to accept trucks from a spare Bowser VO1000, which, although successful I was not happy with the overall feel and the chassis was weakened by some of the metal removal. I decided instead to use the chassis from a Proto 2000 SW1200 but replaced the motor and some of the weight with a Mashima 1628 fitted with a single flywheel. This allowed room to fit a Soundtraxx TSU2-2200 and a pair of sugar cube style speakers wired in series. I added some weight back to the chassis with some sheet lead.

The sound isn’t the right prime mover, I accidentally bought the wrong one but I have a suitable loco in need of this sound so I intend to replace the decoder with a TSU2-1100, when I do that I will tweak the dynamic digital exhaust to respond better as it currently rushes to higher notch settings for only the slightest movement.
