Interview with Chris Beaudry of The River Room (5/3/2025)

https://riverroomwilli.com/

There’s a brand-new performing arts venue opening its doors in Willimantic,
offering an intimate space for live music, dance, visual arts, and more. The River Room, located at 50 Riverside Drive (in the basement of 750 Main Street, just beneath Spiral Arts Ceramic Studio), is set to become a cultural hub for the community. With seating for 65 guests, this non-profit venue promises an up-close and personal experience for both artists and audiences alike.

The River Room is the brainchild of co-founders Daniela de Sousa and Chris Beaudry, longtime friends and musical collaborators. Their shared passion for the arts led them to transform the vacant basement space at 750 Main Street into a dynamic, multi-use performance venue.

Together, they co-founded the non-profit Hands On Projects (HOP), Inc., under which The River Room will operate. While awaiting 501(c)3 status, the project is grateful for the support of its interim fiscal sponsor, Willimantic Renaissance, Inc.
