Impact on Trauma on the Developing Brain
Just a short video to think about the importance of looking at the chronological age of the child when the trauma occurs and the impact on the developing brain. I highly recommend checking out Bruce Perry's brilliant work and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) to deeper understand how these experiences can affect them later in life. Some ACEs include: physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, substance abuse in the household, separation /divorce, incarceration, domestic violence. When looking at ACEs scores, take into consideration the age the trauma occurred and it's impact on the developing brain.
