Yes believe it, not smoking for twenty minutes will actually affect your body in a positive way! As a matter of fact, the effects of quitting start to set in almost immediately. Less than 20 minutes after your last cigarette, your heart rate will start to drop back towards normal levels. Sensations will also start to come alive in hands and legs.
After Eight Hours Of No Smoking:
This will be perhaps the hardest period of the whole process. An entire work day without a smoke and your body will be feeling heightened stress levels and huge cravings. That’s good, it means the nicotine is leaving your bloodstream, and your body can start to heal.
After Two to three days (Or After 48 to 72 hours) Of No Smoking:
Without gum, e-cigarettes or patches, this is a tough hurdle to climb. You’ll be moody, angry and have the patience of a gnat. But if you can do it, after 48 hours your taste and smell receptors already begin to heal, meaning that red velvet cake for Mitchell’s retirement will taste so much better.
