Moose hunt Day 2 got rowdy…
Brady was up as next shooter, unless it was an 80 incher for me.

We woke up after a long nights sleep and hiked to our glassing hill and didn’t see much. Adam needed to fly in to get our meat so we hiked over to Maci’s game bags to get them ready for him to come in.

The wind was howling. We were just standing in the wide open and talking when Brady’s eyes got as big as golfballs and he pointed and said “BIG BULL, BIG BULL, RIGHT THERE”

To our disbelief we looked up, and there was a big bull less than 200 yards away, near Macis kill, feeding toward us and had no idea we were there.

Then the full freak out and arguing happened. 😂 We ran over to get the rifle to get set up and Brady was yelling at me to shoot it. I said no, we established this shooter order so there is no argument. Your next shooter! I’m the boss and you’re next. Brady told me he was big, and that I need to shoot him. I grabbed him by the shoulders and said I don’t care how big he is, you’re shooting this bull!

Then he got excited! He got set up but all we could see was his rack over top of the alders , and then he bedded. I went back and tried to rake like before, and he didn’t care for it. Brady tried grunting, and nothing. Then he cow called and the bull stood up for the shot.

Brady made some great shots into the shoulder, dropped him, then the bull got up and he dropped him again. We then went into the alders to make sure he was dead and the moose stood up and came down at him at 5 yards and he finished him off. We weren’t too far behind him but the alders were so tall I couldn’t see a thing. He understands my moose fears now.

His bull is just beautiful. Scores 233 B&C , 66” wide and has 31 points! I was more than thrilled to watch him shoot this big bull and see his excitement over it.

Adam then flew in and got Maci’s meat, was shocked we had another bull down, and we spent the rest of the day cutting up and packing his bull. 2 full moose done and packed out in 2 days was a marathon! With many days of our hunt left, it was my turn!!!
