SΞΠΤΙΠΞL ΛV - Solar Ascent (Animation)

This a short animated film I made for the 2020 MSI Creator Awards.

The whole process took about 6 weeks:
- Create previs in Premiere Pro
- Model terrain in Gaea
- Extract masks in Houdini
- Model internal assets, process external assets and animate full scene in 3ds Max
- Render with Corona
- Comp in After Effects
- Grade in Resolve
- Cut with soundtrack/sfx in Premiere

Some external assets I used:
- Utopia and Spaceships pack from Kitbash3D
- Forest pack from ALTER '49
- Various textures from Quixel
- The song Supernova by Ian Post, licensed through Artlist

Some extra info:
- The flying wing design of the main ship is inspired by the YB-49
- I used the software Phimatrix to compose most of the shots using the golden ratio
- The movie 'Stealth' served as inspiration for many of the action shots
- I may re-render this to get rid of the undersampling artifacts
