TOPS British transport films
Film describing the introduction and use of the TOPS (Total Operations Processing System) during british rail era. It controls the numbering, location and make of trains using computers. Also gave locomotives on the network today the numbers they have such as class 66 or class 68 for example. Tops was created by Southern pacific railways in the united states and adopted for UK use by British Rail in the 1970's
