Cleaners are doing vital, life-saving work right now, and yet 17 months into the pandemic we're still seeing unequal treatment for those doing this work.

Last week a group of 200 cleaners at Sydney's Westmead Hospital refused to enter the hospital's COVID ward after they say they were denied access to protective equipment.

Last week, a contract cleaner at an aged care home in Sydney's west tested positive to COVID.

It's at least the second in this outbreak, and all the while cleaners who are working outside of the health care setting aren't being prioritised for vaccinations.
