Author Karen Swan on writing two books a year, idea generation, and setting stories at Christmas

Karen Swan is the Sunday Times top three bestselling author of twenty books and her novels sell all over the world. She writes two books each year – one for the summer period and one for the Christmas season. Previous summer titles include The Spanish Promise, The Hidden Beach and The Secret Path and for winter, Christmas at Tiffany’s, The Christmas Secret and Together by Christmas. Her latest Christmas book is The Christmas Postcards.

We had a really interesting chat with Karen, hearing how she only started writing fiction after a suggestion from an agent, and discussing how she keeps to her prolific schedule of two books a year. We also discussed how she generates her ideas for her Christmas books and how her journalism has helped with her writing discipline.
