If you’re familiar with elrow, you know they are seriously one of a kind, like nothing else out there. If you are yet to attend, here is everything you need to know about one of the world’s most famous club nights. elrow is the brainchild of the Arnau Family, who have been operating within the entertainment business in Spain since 1870. The company are also behind Florida 135, Monegros Desert Festival, and KER, a popular urban event. Today, elrow are revolutionising club nights to create an incredibly unique and unforgettable experience. We spoke to Victor, the Booking Director for the elrow family. He thinks it all comes down to clubbing becoming really unchanged. You can go to most clubs worldwide and the main focus is always on the DJ, and that’s nothing new. elrow wanted to bring back the fun to clubbing and put the focus on the entire experience. The DJ is obviously an important part of the show, but you’ve got to think about making the clubbers part of it – that’s what sets elrow apart from other events. “elrow is unique… it’s colourful, exciting and pretty fucking crazy!” elrow prides itself on its individuality. Each event boasts a different, elaborate theme, and each elrow varies so much, depending on the venue. elrow events held at Space in Ibiza, for example, have a completely different setting to elrow’s home in Barcelona. People can really interact with the dancers and performers that are there to entertain the ravers. One of Victor’s favourite elrow party themes is the Mexican Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead). It had massive Mexican skulls on each side of the stage. elrow always go all out with the decoration, it’s something you’ve got to see for yourself! If underground music, varying between house and techno is your flavour, then elrow is definitely for you. At Row Club in Barcelona, you have the main room which is mainly techno and then the terrace which is mainly house so there’s something for everyone. Guests that have appeared at past events include people like The Martinez Brothers, Seth Troxler, Skream, and Richy Ahmed. The roster is quite varied, without moving from the underground scene. Obviously, elrow throw pretty crazy parties, so there’s crazy things happening all the time. The coolest thing for Victor, is seeing people’s faces when they come for the first time. Other elrow guests have spoken out, saying they would regret missing the opportunity to attend an event; the themes are becoming world-famous, and it’d be stupid to miss out. elrow has been growing so exponentially, with thousands of people attending every event. Not just party-goers, but industry people too. A lot of popular DJ’s, agents, and promoters in town come to party at elrow. “It’s so rewarding that serious industry people respect elrow and attend the events.” Even though Victor has seen it a million times before, he still gets goosebumps every time the confetti cannon is fired. The sheer scale of the venues they are held in, and the amount of work that goes into them is beyond compare. Whether the team are given an entire month or a few short hours to prepare for an event, the dedicated team always pull it out the bag and put on an amazing show. Elrow are also branching out to to the americas with a special event in Miami for Miami Music Week and more surprises to come in Latin America, as well as having loads of festivals planned.
