Chinese minorities: From Xinjiang to Tibet? | DW News

From Xinjiang, now to Tibet, satellite images show an expansion of a system designed to control the countries' minorities. The system put in place in Xinjiang appears being installed in Tibet. Once again, China says these are voluntary, vocational training centers. But if what's happened in Xinjiang is any indication, it's more about forcing Chinese culture on unwilling Tibetans. We've reported on the hundreds of detention facilities across the Xinjiang region in China, where the government has rounded up some one million Uighurs, a Muslim and ethnic minority. International condemnation has not discouraged Beijing.
