Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam-Traditional Markets-Season 1 Episode 5 Tân Định Market/Pink Church
*2nd Upload w/slight revision-thanks!*
Tan Dinh Market is probably the most visited market in this series due to it’s location and proximity to other popular places.
In this video Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam-Traditional Markets Series 1 Episode 5, Tan Dinh Market/Pink Church I visit the iconic market with it’s striking facade and interesting layout before visiting the old European cemetery, Le Van Tam Park, before stopping for a relaxing frozen coconut milk drink at Cong Caphe while listening to the noon hour bells of the Tan Dinh Church otherwise known as the “Pink Church”.
This would definitely be a little excursion worth adding on a short visit to Saigon. A chance to see a local market, learn a little more about the history of Saigon and the French Colonial era and see one of the most beautiful churches from that time.
As I said in the video you will find some shop owners can speak English so if there’s something you’re interested in buying you shouldn’t have too much difficulty communicating. This neighborhood is also home to many consulates so they are used to foreigners in this part of the city.
