MSC and Shell: Navigating a course to net-zero emissions

The challenge of decarbonisation is particularly difficult in number of sectors including shipping. Long asset lifespans, high energy dependency and complexity of electrification are some of the challenges faced by hard-to-decarbonise sectors.

These challenges cannot be solved alone, it requires strong collaboration across industries and governments; and there is no single solution.

Bud Darr, Executive Vice President, Maritime Policy and Government Affairs at MSC Group and Melissa Williams, Vice President, Marine, Sectors and Decarbonisation Shell, outline some of shipping’s decarbonisation pathways to help the industry achieve its net-zero emissions ambition.
