2 Cops Fired! 15YO Films Cops Illegal Home Invasion in Utah

In Park City Utah what began as a minor neighbor dispute over a 50cc gas bicycle quickly escalated when Park City Police Department officers forced their way into Michael Franchek's home without a warrant probable cause or exigent circumstances violating the 4th amendment. His 15 year old son Jack Franchek bravely recorded the entire unlawful home invasion and arrest from inside the house and continued filming outside in this intense police encounter and first amendment audit.

Officers ignored Michael Francheks rights tackled him inside his residence and tased him while he repeatedly stated he was not resisting. The 15 year old continued filming demanding badge numbers and questioning the officers actions in a powerful display of know your rights cop watch and audit the police citizen journalism.

Following a detailed internal affairs investigation Officer James Rodrigues and Sergeant Cameron Thor were found to have violated multiple department policies. Both officers were ultimately terminated from the Park City Police Department. Michael Franchek was arrested for failure to identify resisting and disorderly conduct but the state prosecutor ultimately declined to pursue the case and all charges were dropped.

This footage serves as a stark reminder of the importance of the fourth amendment first amendment constitutional rights police accountability and the power of bodycam style citizen recording against law enforcement overreach and tyrant cop behavior in USA cities.

Michael Franchek a Park City Utah resident and former city council candidate filed a federal civil rights lawsuit under 42 U.S.C. section 1983 in 2021 seeking over 1.1 million dollars alleging violations of his first fourth fifth and 14th amendment rights. The lawsuit was later dismissed without prejudice in August 2024. In 2025 his son Jack Conrad Franchek filed his own new federal civil rights lawsuit against Park City and the same officers asserting his constitutional claims from the 2019 incident which remains active as of 2026 with no public settlement or payout reported to date.
