Jaakko Seikkula - Professor of Psychotherapy, Clinical Psychologist, Finland. "Open Dialogue: Naturalistic Study Designs for Developing the System for Reduced Medication."

Has been mainly involved in developing family and social network based practices, Open Dialogue, in psychiatry with psychoses and other severe crises. His research has focused on outcome and process studies on family therapy of psychosis and depression and social network interventions.

The number of psychiatric diagnoses and prescriptions of pharmaceuticals to children, youths and adults have sharply increased in Sweden as well as the rest of the Western world in recent decades. More and more people are searching for knowledge about the risks attached to pharmaceuticals and about withdrawal.

At this scientific symposium, an internationally acknowledged group of scientists, clinicians and people with their own lived experience have gathered to to discuss this vital issue and present alternatives.
