"In this age of quarrel and hypocrisy the only means of deliverance is chanting of the holy name of the Lord. There is no other way.”

BHAKTI YOGA | The Bhagavad Gita ultimately prescribes bhakti-yoga (the path of devotion) as the culmination of other yoga practices. Bhakti-yoga focuses on developing our devotional service and love for the Divinity, Lord Krishna. The core of bhakti is chanting of the Holy Names of God, either individually on beads (japa mala) or in congregational chanting (kirtan).

BB GOVINDA SWAMI | A monk and guru in a Vaishnava tradition, a tireless traveler and a gifted musician. His father Bob Neal was the first producer of Elvis Presley, who would call young Sean “my younger brother”. He joined the Krishna consciousness movement in Buffalo, NY in 1971 and received initiation from Srila Prabhupada later that year. Immersed in a world of music since childhood, Govinda Swami tries to combine modern sounds with the music of the soul in a genre known as kirtan.

In 1976 Govinda Swami first visited Vrindavan, India, a central place to the Vaishnava tradition, where he spent years studying local culture and tradition, developing a strong connection with the place. Currently, Govinda Swami maintains a busy schedule traveling around the world conducting concerts, lectures, charity events, and helping people to discover the beauty of Vrindavan and it’s heart opening potency. He has established a spiritual eco-farm community Sri Vrindavan Dhama in Kazakhstan. His kirtan programs such as “The Magic of Sound” and “Awakening the Soul” were held in many countries: the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine, South Africa, Hong Kong, Fiji, Australia, USA and others.

SRILA PRABHUPADA | In July of 1966, Bhaktivedanta Swami established the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) for the purpose he stated of “checking the imbalance of values in the world and working for real unity and peace”. Srila Prabhupada circled the globe 14 times spreading the teachings of Lord Krishna. People from all backgrounds and walks of life came forward to accept his message. With their help, Srila Prabhupada established temples, farm communities, a publishing house, and educational institutions around the world. And, he began what has now become the world’s largest vegetarian food relief program, Hare Krishna Food for Life. He authored over 70 volumes of books on the Vaisnava tradition, which are highly respected by scholars for their authority, depth, fidelity to the tradition, and clarity. His writings have been translated into 76 languages. His most prominent works include: Bhagavad-gita As It Is, Srimad-Bhagavatam, and Sri Caitanya-caritamrita.
