Auschwitz Nazi torturer who laughed when killing kids in front of their moms & killed his own family

Oswald Kaduk was born on the 26th of August 1906 in the city of Königshütte, then part of the German Empire. The Second World War began on the 1st of September 1939 when Germany invaded Poland.That same year, Kaduk joined the General SS, which was the administrative and non-combative part of the SS, and in 1940 he was drafted into the Waffen-SS, the military branch of the SS. After Nazi Germany invaded the Soviet Union on the 22nd of June 1941, Kaduk was sent to the Eastern Front. At first, Kaduk was assigned to guard tower duty in 1942. Then he became a block leader responsible for overseeing prisoner barracks, and eventually was promoted to report leader, a role that involved conducting roll calls and enforcing discipline. In these positions, Kaduk quickly gained a reputation for brutality, and what followed were some of the most horrific crimes committed by any SS personnel at Auschwitz. Holocaust survivor Michał Kula described Kaduk as a tall, slightly hunched man in his mid-thirties who spoke Polish fluently. Kula recalled that he was often drunk and instilled fear throughout the camp. Kaduk was known for bursting into prisoner barracks without warning, conducting aggressive searches, and beating inmates without provocation. If he found someone in possession of goods brought in from the outside, he would either confiscate them or drag the prisoner to the Political Department, which often meant brutal interrogation, torture, or even death. In some cases, he struck deals with inmates and later used those arrangements to blackmail them, often demanding bribes such as vodka or sausages in exchange for his silence.
Kaduk also patrolled areas where working prisoners had contact with civilians, actively looking for illegal food exchanges.
