people, very recently a conversation between me and a traffic cop compelled me to share it with you and showed me the existing craze of obtaining advocate's stickers amongst common people evidently in order to save some challans and unnecessary trouble from the traffic police.

The anecdote is that just today only one traffic cop stopped my car while I was heading back from a client counseling, somehow the cop managed to have a look at the advocate's a sticker affixed on the front shield of my car.

The next question he asked was - aap waqeel ho? furious by the absurdity of that question I couldn't hold back and retorted - sticker nahi dikh raha?

The response that came from that cop was hilarious but eye opening
he replied waqeel sahab kaya karein sticker toh ajkal sab ke paas hain, aap please bar council ka card dikha do the helplessness in the voice of that cop made me share a good laugh with him and showed me the craze of people for advocate's stickers these days.

Later i took out my advocate's ID and then he did not trouble me much with exhibition of requisite documents.
But guys this anecodte vividly showed me the competition amongst people these days who reach out to their acquainted lawyer's friends,family members etc. to obtain that sticker in order to fool the traffic police by impersonating themselves as advocates but to your dismay i would like to tell you, that merely affixing the sticker on your vehicle won't save you from the vigilance of trafiic police as these days they have started
this practice of looking at the advocates' ID before actually believing it is a lawyer's vehicle so, your pursuit of fooling traffic cops might not work now
and make no mistake this act might also charge you with the offence of impersonation under section 416 ipc.
