Punugulu Indian Snack | Unique variation with puffed rice | Super Crispy n Light Weight {Recipe# 42}
PUNUGULU: A popular Indian evening snack and street food. You can hardly find any south Indian who does not crave for these punugulu or punukkulu. These are traditionally made with either 'dosa' batter or 'Idly' batter. Here I proudly present a unique variation of this punugulu recipe by blending both the idly and dosa batter together and also by adding 'puffed rice' to it. When I developed this version few years back, I was highly impressed with the results and how punugulu stayed super crispy outside and soft spongy inside even after hours. And puffed rice brought additional crunchiness to the snack. Like me , if you are into preparing these two batters every week, you will enjoy this version of punugulu any evening of the week as it only takes 10-15 mins to serve the snack hot :) Please try it out and do not forget to leave your valuable feedback for me.

Big Onions - 1
Green Chillies - 2
Dosa Batter - 1 cup
Idly Batter - 1 cup
Puffed Rice - 1/2 cup
Salt - 3/4 tsp (adjust to taste)
