Mega tour of a Colonial New Hampshire home & its history
We visit a beautiful colonial home owned by our friends George & Ester in Dunbarton New Hampshire and what a tour we got. The original part of the house that is the oldest was built in the 1780s and the front part finished around 1806. So much of the original fixtures are still intact in the amazing home. The old fireplace, massive soup bowl, dutch ovens, door latches and such. George takes us through the entire house and gives us some great history on past owners going all the way back to the 1700s. We see inside the attic, the cellar hole and you don't want to miss the open well in his bathroom. Continuing the tour we go outside to walk through the old massive barn. To think these structures are all built with first cut old growth trees is chilling. We get a little look at the Molly Stark house as well being its right next door.
