Jercoupe's Cat Seat design for a West Wight Potter 15' sailboat

The aluminum lip is out on the third try!!!. Since then I have taken off the aluminum angle on the front and just put a oak 1x3 on the front with a rope through a hole in that board and then tied to the centerboard cleat. I don't use the left side cleat anyway. I was thinking even running them up to the handholds but that one lower rope seems to be working fine so far. No more pops! I used mahogany and oak on the next one . You can see a pic of the second prototype here: https://forum.trailersailor.com//post.php?id=1477853
This is an idea I came up with to fit a seat in the cabin hatch of a Potter 15'. Worked out pretty well on our first test without too much undue strain on the fiberglass although I still think I may add an aluminum angle stiffener to the underside of the fiberglass hatch lip.
